Brow Lift in Nashville

Lift Your Look · Restore Your Expression

Many patients find that the upper face begins to project fatigue, concern, or sternness that has nothing to do with their mood or energy. The brows have simply descended with time, and no amount of sleep or skincare reverses that structural shift.

Elevation to the anatomically correct position. Never beyond it. The result looks like you on a well-rested day.

About this procedure

Repositioned brows. Smoother forehead lines. A more rested, naturally youthful appearance.

A brow lift, also called a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure that elevates the soft tissue and skin of the forehead and brow to correct descent of the brows, reduce deep horizontal forehead creases, and soften the vertical frown lines between the brows known as glabellar lines. By addressing the underlying anatomy rather than simply treating the surface, the procedure produces improvements that topical products and injectables cannot replicate.

At Sieveking Plastic Surgery, Dr. Nicholas Sieveking approaches every brow lift with the same conservative philosophy that defines his facelift work: the goal is elevation to the anatomically correct position, never beyond it, so the result looks like you on a well-rested day rather than someone who has had surgery.

The approach

Brow lift techniques.

The endoscopic brow lift is the most commonly performed technique and is well-suited to patients with mild to moderate brow descent and an average to high hairline. Several small incisions, each under one centimeter, are placed behind the hairline. A tiny camera guides Dr. Sieveking in releasing and precisely repositioning the brow tissue, which is then secured with internal fixation devices. Scarring is virtually imperceptible, hairline position is preserved, and recovery is generally shorter than with more extensive approaches.

  1. The temporal brow lift uses incisions limited to the temple region behind the hairline, targeting the outer third of the brow. This technique is well-suited to patients whose primary concern is lateral brow descent or the hooding that forms at the outer corners of the eyes. It is frequently performed in combination with upper eyelid surgery for patients whose concerns overlap at the lid-brow junction.

  2. The coronal brow lift involves a continuous incision running across the top of the scalp from ear to ear, positioned behind the hairline. This technique provides the most comprehensive and durable correction and is best suited to patients with severe brow descent, very deep forehead creases, or a low hairline for whom the endoscopic approach would not achieve adequate improvement. Dr. Sieveking will discuss incision characteristics and hairline considerations in detail during your consultation.

What it addresses

What a brow lift can address.

The procedure focuses on the upper face from the hairline to just above the eyes. It does not treat under-eye hollows, mid-face descent, or lower eyelid concerns.

Concern · 01

Brow descent

Sagging or descended brows that rest at or below the orbital rim, lending a heavy, tired quality to the upper face.

Concern · 02

Upper-eyelid hooding

Hooding over the upper eyelids caused by brow descent rather than excess eyelid skin alone.

Concern · 03

Deep forehead creases

Deep horizontal forehead lines that persist at rest.

Concern · 04

Glabellar lines

Vertical frown lines and furrows between the brows that project concern or irritability.

Concern · 05

Brow asymmetry

Asymmetrical brow position that creates an uneven appearance.

Concern · 06

A stern resting expression

A tired, angry, or stern resting expression unrelated to fatigue or emotion.

Why choose this procedure

Benefits of a brow lift.

Brow lift surgery at Sieveking Plastic Surgery in Franklin, Tennessee, repositions descended brows and smooths deep forehead lines to restore a more rested, naturally youthful appearance that reflects how you actually feel.

  • A rested, alert appearance

Elevating the brows to their natural anatomical position removes the fatigued or stern expression that descended tissue creates.

  • A refreshed upper face in proportion

Treating the brow frame of the eye allows results to complement the rest of the face naturally, rather than creating an isolated change.

  • Durable, structural results

Unlike neuromodulator treatments, surgical elevation addresses the underlying anatomy directly and does not require repeat maintenance appointments.

  • Renewed confidence

Patients frequently report a meaningful improvement in how they feel presenting themselves professionally and personally when the upper face reflects their energy.

  • Smoother forehead and glabella

Repositioning the underlying muscles and soft tissue softens deep creases that topical treatments and neuromodulators cannot resolve at a structural level.

  • On-site accredited surgery center

Brow lift surgery is performed at the practice’s brand-new, on-site, accredited surgery center, allowing for a fully private, physician-directed experience.

The natural aging process does continue, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and consistent skincare regimen supports the longevity of your results.

Your experience

What to expect: before, during, and after your brow lift.

01 Consultation

A thorough in-person evaluation

Your consultation with Dr. Sieveking begins with a thorough in-person evaluation of your brow position relative to the orbital rim, your hairline height and density, the degree of brow descent across the medial, central, and lateral thirds, and the quality of your forehead skin. He also evaluates whether any upper-eyelid ptosis is present and whether it should be addressed at the same time. The consultation is unhurried and detailed, because the most important conversation in the surgical process is the one that happens before it begins.

02 Procedure

A fully private, physician-directed experience

Brow lift surgery at Sieveking Plastic Surgery is performed at the practice’s brand-new, on-site, accredited surgery center, allowing for a fully private, physician-directed experience. Most procedures are performed under general anesthesia. The endoscopic and temporal techniques typically require 1–2 hours; the coronal approach may take closer to 2–3 hours, depending on the complexity of correction needed.

03 Recovery

The first week at home

Most patients experience visible swelling and bruising during the first week and prefer to remain at home during that time. Patients with sedentary work typically return in approximately 10–14 days. Strenuous physical activity is generally restricted for 4–6 weeks. Scalp sensation, which is often temporarily reduced after surgery, normalizes progressively over several months.

04 Results

The full refined result

The full refined result is typically visible between 6 and 12 months as swelling resolves and incision lines fully mature. Because a brow lift addresses the underlying anatomy surgically, results are durable and are not dependent on maintenance appointments the way neuromodulator treatments are. Most patients enjoy long-lasting improvement for a decade or more.

Not every brow lift is the same.

The technique that produces the best result depends on your degree of brow descent, hairline height, and density, and the specific concerns you want to address. Dr. Sieveking evaluates each patient carefully before recommending an approach.

Patients with broader facial rejuvenation goals may benefit from combining a brow lift with complementary procedures such as upper eyelid surgery or a facelift, and Dr. Sieveking will discuss whether a combined surgical plan makes sense for your anatomy during your consultation.

Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

The questions most prospective patients ask before booking a consultation.

  • You may be a good candidate if your brows have descended below or near the orbital rim, creating a heavy, tired, or stern appearance at rest. Good candidates are adults in generally good health who do not smoke and have realistic expectations. An important distinction made at consultation is whether your upper-eyelid hooding is caused by brow descent, excess eyelid skin, or both, because that assessment determines the most appropriate procedure for your anatomy.

  • The endoscopic brow lift uses several small incisions behind the hairline and a camera to guide tissue repositioning with minimal scarring and a shorter recovery. The coronal brow lift uses a longer incision across the top of the scalp and is reserved for patients with more significant descent or anatomy not well served by the endoscopic approach. Dr. Sieveking selects the technique based on your specific anatomy and goals.

  • Most patients experience visible swelling and bruising during the first week. Those with sedentary work typically return in approximately 10–14 days. Strenuous activity is generally restricted for 4–6 weeks, and the full refined result is usually visible between 6 and 12 months.

  • Incision placement is designed specifically to minimize visible scarring. In the endoscopic and temporal techniques, incisions are small and positioned within the hair-bearing scalp, making them virtually imperceptible once healed. The coronal approach involves a longer incision that is also positioned behind the hairline; scar maturation typically takes 6–12 months.

  • A brow lift addresses the position of the brow itself, correcting descent of the soft tissue above the eye. Upper blepharoplasty addresses excess skin and tissue on the upper eyelid. The two concerns can look similar from the outside but require different surgical solutions. In many patients, both are present, and a combined approach produces the most complete and balanced result.

  • Because a brow lift addresses the underlying anatomy surgically, results are durable and are not dependent on maintenance appointments the way neuromodulator treatments are. Most patients enjoy long-lasting improvement for a decade or more. The natural aging process does continue, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and consistent skincare regimen supports the longevity of your results.
